Al final la verdad acaba saliendo a la luz y el escándalo del supuesto hijo secreto del canadiense parece que se ha quedado en una chica que buscaba su momento de gloria. Mariah Yeater ha decidido retirar la denuncia contra el artista unas horas después de que Justin accediera a hacerse las pruebas de ADN. ¿El motivo de esta retirada? Sus abogados han decidido no representar su defensa.

La californiana se ha quedado sin coartada, sin argumentos e incluso sin abogados. La web TMZ ha publicado en exclusiva que los letrados que había contratado la joven, Lance Rogers y Matt Pare han decidido no seguir adelante con el proceso.

El portal señala que el motivo podría ser que ambos veían venir una denuncia por parte del abogado de Bieber, Howard Weitzman, que iba a abrir un nuevo litigio contra la joven por haber hecho afirmaciones falsas sobre el artista.

No obstante, Justin ya había dejado claro que no tenía inconveniente en hacerse las pruebas de paternidad para evidenciar que ese bebé no es suyo.

Ahora Mariah ha decidido salir corriendo antes de ver cara a cara con la que se avecinaba: un denuncia del canadiense por haberle calumniado sin motivo.

Ediciones B lanzará 300 títulos al año a través de su sello electrónico 'B de Books'

Las editoriales españolas apuestan por el libro electrónico o e-book, un fenómeno que crece con fuerza pero al que aún le queda un largo recorrido en España. Ediciones B, editorial del Grupo Zeta, intenta acercarse al éxito que sí tiene este formato en Estados Unidos con el lanzamiento de 300 títulos a precios reducidos (menos de 10 euros) y sin protección DRM (Gestión de Derechos Digitales). Una estrategia de márketing que algunos pueden considerarla una invitación a la llamada piratería.

B de Books se estrena hoy con la salida de 250 novedades como El factor scarpetta (1,99 euros) de Patricia Cornwell, Sobre el camino de la vida(3,99 euros) de Moisés Broggi, y otras publicaciones del fondo editorial como Africanus, el hijo del cónsul (5,99 euros) de la trilogía histórica de Santiago Posteguillo. Cuestan entre 1,99 y 9,99 euros, por debajo del precio fijado en el mercado para otras novelas de este mismo formato que suelen superar los 15 euros. Y, según explican en la editorial, se pueden adquirir en menos clics.

Ediciones B prescinde de la protección DRM con el fin de facilitar la compra al futuro lector. "No hace falta que el archivo pase el proceso de encriptado" que lo protege contra copia, asegura Ernest Folch, director de la editorial. El DRM estándar limita la visualización del archivo descargado a seis aparatos distintos. "De esta manera intentamos que el cliente tarde lo mismo que al comprar online un libro impreso", continúa. Una estrategia para enganchar lectores dentro de un negocio en el que las ventas del papel superan con creces las digitales. Mientras que con En el país de la nube blanca, de Sarah Lark, se han vendido 140.000 ejemplares impresos, aseguran desde la editorial, en e-books no superan las 4.000 descargas.

Esta ventaja para el lector puede convertirse en un enemigo para la propia editorial. Porque pagar menos se agradece, pero lo gratuito es siempre la primera opción, o tal vez no. "Por poco dinero te aseguras tener la versión definitiva de un libro, sin erratas y con posibilidad de tenerlo en todos los dispositivos que quieras", explican en la editorial.

"Lo importante es que la gente se aficione a la lectura"

Tanto los escritores Santiago Posteguillo como Alberto Vázquez Figueroa se muestran de acuerdo con el precio fijado a sus obras en edición digital. "No se puede pagar lo mismo por un libro sin pastas, que no ha sufrido costes de impresión", explica Posteguillo. Y no temen que sus libros se encuentren desprotegidos contra copia. Ambos prefieren ganar lectores que engrosar la nómina, pero hasta un límite. "Cuanta más gente me lea, mejor; pero está claro que si se deja de pagar, puedes quedarte sin escritor", dice el autor de la trilogía de Escipión, que se compra por 5,99 euros cada título.

"Prefiero que mi libro esté manoseado, usado, pasado de unos a otros. Eso es ser escritor, lo otro es 'a ver si gano dinero", señala el autor de Centauros o Kalashnikov, a la venta por 3,99 euros cada uno. Hace "más de ocho años" que Figueroa hizo del libro electrónico una oportunidad para llegar a más gente. Su obra Por mil millones de dólarespuede descargarse directamente de su web: "Lo importante es que la gente lea y se aficione a la lectura. A lo mejor alguien que me ha leído gratis, decide comprarse un libro, aunque no sea mío", dice. Una actitud que es fácil tener cuando eres un novelista consagrado, o no: "Antes de ganarme algo de dinero con Ébano [la obra que le llevó al éxito], había escrito más de 10 obras que nunca llegaron a publicarse. ¡Ojalá me hubieran dicho cuando empecé que me iban a publicar y a este precio!".

El escritor y periodista canario tiene varias novelas pendientes de escribir, entre las que destaca, según cuenta, una que aborde la catástrofe natural que ha vivido la isla de El Hierro desde hace un mes. La delegación de Venezuela que participa en los Juegos Parapanamericanos que se celebran en Guadalajara coronó ayer una jornada de ensueño al alcanzar ocho preseas de oro, repartidas entre el atletismo y la natación, que ubicaron al tricolor patrio en la cuarta posición del medallero de la competición.

A partir del próximo 22 de noviembre Google confirmó que se retirará la aplicación móvil de su servicio de correo electrónico en la tienda de aplicaciones de Blackberry, así lo confirmó la empresa a través de su blog oficial de Google Aps.

En poco más de 10 días, los usuarios de BlackBerry que no tengan la aplicación instalada tan solo podrán acceder a Gmail a través del navegador. Google aseguró que los usuarios que ya tengan instalada la aplicación en sus smartphones podrán seguir con su uso.

Sin embargo, a partir de ese día "no recibirá soporte por parte de Google", es decir, los usuarios podrán consultar su correo a través de la aplicación, pero Google no lanzará nuevas actualizaciones.

La decisión del equipo de Google se ha tomado para poder mejorar la experiencia de Gmail a través del navegador móvil. - Dette er stort!
Lørdag kveld var det duket for finale i "Skal vi danse", og etter en spennende kveld der finalistene Kari Traa og Atle Pettersen danset seg gjennom hele tre numre hver, er det nå klart at vinneren av årets sesong av den populære dansekonkurransen ble 22 år gamle Atle.
- Tusen takk alle som har stemt, det varmer. Dette er stort, sa han etter at resultatet ble opplest like etter klokken 22 lørdag kveld.
Starlounge var på plass for å dekke finalen, og vi fikk tatt en prat med den lykkelige vinneren av årets dansepokal midt i kaoset som regjerte i studio etter endt sending.
- Det var så sprøtt, sier Atle til Starlounge om hvordan det var å stå og vente på resultatet.
- Da jeg sto der så tenkte jeg: ”Skal det faktisk avgjøres nå?” Så sa de ”Atle og Marianne!” Hva skjer med det liksom? Det er helt rått! fortsetter han.
Pokalen må Atle imidlertid dele med dansepartneren Marianne Sandaker, men han har allerede laget en plan for hvordan delingen av pokalen skal foregå i praksis.
- Det blir litt som barnet vårt, så vi får ha den annenhver helg. Så krangler vi litt om kjøring og henting, men ellers går det bra!

But it seems Ashton Kutcher has finally fallen out of love with Twitter.

The 33-year-old actor today handed over the control of his account to his management team after scores of Twitter users blasted him for posting support for a football coach caught up in a child abuse scandal.

On a long explanatory post on his blog, he wrote: 'Up until today I have posted virtually everyone of my tweets on my own, but clearly the platform has become too big to be managed by a single individual.

'While I will continue to express myself through @Aplusk I'm going to turn the management of the feed over to my team at Katalyst Media to ensure the quality of it's content.'

The Two and a Half Men star went on to explain that he did not have the full facts before posting the tweet about the sacking of Pennsylvania State University coach Joe Paterno.

At about 12.30am this morning, he wrote on his official account: 'How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye [the University of Iowa football team] fan I find it in poor taste.'

Within minutes the term Jo Pa, a misspelt nickname of the legendary football coach, was trending on the social networking site as thousands of users ripped into the Two and a Half Men star.

His comment came after the news that Paterno, Penn State head coach for 46 years, had been fired for allegedly covering up sexual abuse by the school's former football defence coordinator Jerry Sandusky.

On his blog, Kutcher went into a further explanation of the offending tweet, writing: 'Last night after returning home from work I walked by the television and simply saw a headline that Joe Paterno had been fired.

'As a football fan and someone who had watched Joe's career move from that of legend/innovator to a head coach that fulfilled his duty in the booth, I assumed that the university had let him go due to football related issues.

Last night, many tweeters pointed out that Kutcher, together with his wife Demi Moore, founded the the DNA Foundation, which specifically aims to 'end child sex slavery'.

Many simply labelled Kutcher an idiot for his view. After the barrage of complaints, Kutcher deleted the tweet and recanted his stance.

'This is an insane story, I just heard paterno was fired, getting the rest of the story now... Wow,' he wrote. He added: 'Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet! Didn't have full story. #admitwhenYoumakemistakes

Kutcher famously reached one million Twitter followers back in 2009, beating out CNN in a hotly contested race.

While models at fashion week proper have a 'matured' look - tall, skinny girls with high cheekbones and ethereal beauty, shunning the fuller figures of which the country is so proud - some aspects of the week are stuck in something of a culture warp, with one runway decorated with a vast mountain of fake cocaine.

An underwear show sees bright bikinis leaving little to the imagination of models' perfect, though often far-from-natural, bodies.

Shake that ass: Colombian fashion week shows seem to be rather more about the bodies wearing the clothes than the designs themselves

Plastic surgery is clearly the norm, if not openly spoken about. One underwear model patently lies, claiming her figure is 100 per cent natural.

Over at the main fashion week's competitor, Moda Para El Mundo, the focus is even less on fashion and more on bling and booties.

An incredulous Ms Duboc clearly has a hard time focusing, surrounded by glutes of epic proportions.

'People's arses are such a massive distraction from anything else,' she says. 'It's kind of impossible to talk about anything else. It's just ridiculous.'

While Colombia Moda may be championing a skinny look, the remainder of the city - and the country at large - continues to pay homage to the famous Latina booty and its accentuated form, known locally as 'narco beauty.'

One model tells her: 'I didn't take part in Colombia Moda because I was too fat. But I am happy with the way I am. I think Colombia Moda should show fashion and Colombian models.'

It's a far cry from the stick-thin models that are part-and-parcel of international catwalks.

Show beautician, Maria, told Miss Duboc that the city's extraordinary body consciousness is a throwback to drug cartels.

'I dare say it was to do with narco trafficking,' she says. 'They always want an exuberant woman with many attributes who is very revealing. The culture applied itself to Medellin. All girls have to have perfect hourglass figures or even better.

'It is often implied that to be beautiful there is a need to have surgery. Not just the breasts, but also the face, everything.'

She says that at her school, 'all' of her friends had bottom or breast boosts and that 'by the age of 17, most girls have surgery.'

Gluteoplasty surgeon, Dr Juan Mejia, told Ms Duboc that he has seen horrific cases of bottom injections going horribly, irreversibly wrong.

And sadly, he said, the upward trend in plastic surgery is a direct result of the country's poor educational system.

'There are many girls from working and lower classes that do not hope to see education. They have seen that beauty queens and models have managed to climb social barriers and they stop relying on education, relying on a future where beauty could help them.'

The Vice team even manage to film a bottom implant surgery - not for the faint-hearted, the operation and its associated risks prove how far some will go to shake that Latina ass on the catwalk.

The guests, which included actresses Penelope Keith and Susan Hampshire, then heard from Jacqui Thompson, the widow of Senior Aircraftman Gary Thompson of 3 Squadron RAF Regiment, who was killed by a roadside bomb while on patrol in Kandahar, Afghanistan, in April 2008.

At 51, Mr Thompson is the oldest member of the UK Armed Forces to have been killed during the 10 year conflict.

His wife, an inspiring mother of five daughters, explained to guests the personal significance the Arboretum has for her family.

Afterwards she said: ‘It was fab to meet them. They said they were sorry to hear about Gary and they were so sincere and interested. I felt they could have been my son and daughter.

‘The arboretum is such an incredible place and William's interest in the appeal means such a lot. The older generation will always have respect for the armed forces and what it means to put your life on the line but some of the younger generation who haven't experienced war might not appreciate this.

‘Through his interest he is making sure the younger generation are kept aware.

‘When I heard he was going to the Falklands I felt for his wife and the worry she must have. When you love someone you're going to miss them terribly.’

Kate also bumped into old acquaintance Georgina Wessels at the reception who she recognised from her days at St Andrews University.

Georgina, who is pregnant with a baby due in March, said: ‘We used to live on the same street at university.

‘We've bumped into each other a few times over the years but it's all a bit more formal now.

Kate, who has been plagued by rumours she is pregnant herself, gave no indication as to whether the growing baby talk is true.

The guests then assembled for a three course dinner, sitting at tables decorated with tiny trees which will be planted in the 150-acre Staffordshire arboretum.

Mariah Carey hadde ikke noe imot å vise fram gravidmagen sin da hun ventet tvillingene Moroccan og Monroe Cannon, og nå viser hun igjen fram figuren sin - men denne gangen er hun 32 kilo lettere. Etter fødselen har nemlig 18 kilo vann og 14 kilo fett forsvunnet fra kroppen hennes.

Da hun tirsdag var gjest i Rosie O'Donnells talkshow, ”The Rosie Show”, på den amerikanske tv-kanalen OWN, viste den 42-år gamle sangeren stolt fram kroppen sin i et sort, ettersittende mini-skjørt og en utringet skinnjakke, og hun røpte da hvordan og hvorfor hun valgte å slanke seg.

"Jeg hadde en veldig vanskelig graviditet. Jeg måtte holde meg sengeliggende, men det var så ille at selv sengen gjorde vondt… Jeg lærte en masse av å være gravid, å se kroppen min endre seg… Hele poenget med dette er ikke bare; "hei, se på meg og vekttapet mitt, jeg er fantastisk." Det handler virkelig om helsen. Som jeg sa; jeg lærte det, da jeg ble hjelpeløs og følte meg mer sårbar en noensinne", sier den åpenhjertige divaen
