With the U.S. Open just days away, Rafael Nadal is reminding fans of his physical strength — and his fine physique. The tennis star’s second round of Emporio Armani underwearand Armani Jeans ads dropped Thursday, and needless to say, he looks ready to hit the court.
Debuting the autumn/winter 2011-12 campaign at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City Thursday, Nadal humbly called the photos “good. It’s a different world that is very positive for me,” he told WWD of modeling. “I enjoy it a lot.”
A guy whose style is defined by “jeans, polo shirts and jackets,” Nadal said his work with Armani has upped his fashion ante. But don’t expect to see him wearing the latest runway looks anytime soon. “If I see something I like, I get it,” he said of his low-maintenance shopping style.
The campaign was shot on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca by fashion photographer Steven Klein; it will launch in Sept. 2011.
